CAROLINA SCIENCE IN MY MIND

Feb 1993.  Excerpt from the book, Year of The Pig.

I showed Damien my spill paintings and gave him my Carolina science catalogue because he needed a butterfly source of materials. So I put yellow stickers on the pages with the skeletons, sculls, mannequins and resuscitation dolls I was working on. He said he would stick to the animals and I would do the humans.

Excerpt. 1995.  He not only did the animals but the mannequins and paintings I was also working on.  Paintings based on the human pathology slides.

This is what inspired my spill paintings in 1989. Damien saw these in my studio and at the Cohen gallery project room in 1993
